SPRINKLES Cupcakes-The Dot Trademarks-Take 2

It’s finally time for Part 2 of the brand a dot theme. I recently wrote about YOGI TOES and the ECODOT. Yogitoes. Across the street from our office at 9606 Santa Monica in Beverly Hills, there is a daily line of people waiting to get into SPRINKLES cupcakes at 9635.
Recently I heard the founder of Sprinkles speak at a women entrepreneurs event. in Los Angeles. The SPRINKLES story is a wonderful inspiration of belief in a
concept, together with hard work. This is a great brand in the making, moving from my hood to yours soon. The naysayers are now copy cats. It’s also another example of how a trademark can be more than a word, phrase or slogan, and certain more than a word used in a domain name. Over time the design can become equally famous, much like the NIKE Swoosh, and Apple’s “bitten apple.”
In the case of SPRINKLES, there are two little circles on the top of each cupcake. Next time you go for a cupcake, remember there’s more there than just the strawberry, or the lemon, or the red velvet, or coconut, or the... Oh dear—time to run across the street before they close!
